Juan de Orduña

Brief Biography

Juan de Orduña, the son of Juan de Orduña and María de Ayala, was a native of Toledo (Toledo province). He came to New Spain as early as 1533 and participated in the pacification of Chontales with Francisco Maldonado. Although Juan was not present at the 1540 muster, he stated in 1547 that he participated in the Expedition and lost an eye from an arrow wound.
