The only certain information we have for the expeditionary Graviel Hernández is that he was present at the muster as a footman. However, in the Pasajero record there appears to be only one Graviel headed to New Spain. In that record there is also a Pedro Álvarez from Berlanga right before Graviel received his license to travel. Because both names appear on the muster for the Expedition, it seems highly probable that they were both expeditionaries. If that assumption is correct, then Graviel was a native of Berlanga, in the modern province of Badajoz and the son of Diego Hernández and Ana Hernández.
