Alonso Paradinas was present at the 1540 muster as a well-equipped member of Guevara's company. The documentary record shows a Alonso Rodríguez de Paradinas as a lieutenant to maestre de campo Lope de Samaniego. Perhaps they are one and the same individual and perhaps he died along with Samaniego. Viceroy Mendoza reported that at Chiametla "one of the soldiers who was going with Samaniego, who had strayed off, yelled that the Indians were killing him." Possibly this man was Alonso Paradinas, especially because there is so little documentary evidence about him.
